Many, many SMEs
In Austria, there are about 250.000 small and midsized businesses, hence more than 99% of all Austrian companies belong to this category (source: KMU Forschung Austria). Two third of all jobs in Austria are provided by SMEs. And there is a similar picture all over Europe.
Not least due to these impressive figures we are convinced of the importance of small and midsized businesses to the economy.
We know that
- the IT requirements of SMEs are similar to those of big companies
- for SMEs IT has to be simple and easy-to-handle
- IT has to be flexible to respond to the dynamics of SMEs
Simply knowing these facts is certainly not enough that is why we have developed the KINAMU model to be able to fulfill all these demands in our solutions.
Two different approaches
There isn’t just one way of doing it, to be sure. However, the question is which way is the most recommendable to be able to offer our customers the best solution at an attractive price. Take a commercial product and open source solutions and combine these, and voila:
Each product has its specific benefits. We believe in the open source model as development model with which it is possible to quickly provide high-quality software solutions and to accelerate innovation on the market. For areas, where in our view a commercial product is the better choice we certainly use it. This is how we are able to kill two birds with one stone and profit from all benefits.
