It is generally accepted that the use of ERP and CRM solutions in medium sized enterprises brings about many advantages and benefits. In many areas these systems have become an absolute necessity by enabling a smooth and efficient operation of a company. The use of such systems, however, holds various dangers and risks, but it is mainly the high costs that keep many - particularly smaller enterprises - from consolidating their IT environment and changing to best-in-class systems.
Flexibility and 100% fit - but at what cost?
Traditional approaches to the implementation and operation of business solutions have the advantage of being tailored to the individual needs of the enterprise, as a rule, however, they involve long project run-times, high costs as well as the establishment of additional human and knowledge resources for the implemented system.
Meanwhile so-called software-as-a-service offers (onDemand solutions) have been established on the market, with which the access to the company software is performed exclusively via the internet. Such systems are far more cost-effective; as a consequence, however, they are more reduced in functionality. Typical demands such as the integration into in-house systems are rather difficult to realize. Although there is a great emphasis on data security, the company itself does not have access to company-related critical data. If the demands of the company change, then with these models you rather sooner than later reach the limits of its possibilities and will be left to turn to new solutions.
The KINAMU Approach - the better of two worlds!
With its delivery model KINAMU tries to unite the essential advantages of both approaches in one by minimizing the disadvantages of each individual model.
The Delivery Approach which is based on flexibility, selection from libraries and configuration via useful paths for an SME and thus provides the quickness of a software-as-a-service model is being combined with an on-site solution. The hardware will be provided, the system may then be adjusted to the company's individual needs as far as reports, forms and interfaces are concerned.
Clearly calculable current costs - no initial investments
The KINAMU approach also takes into account the financial concept and the budget plans of medium sized enterprises. All necessary requirements will be provided by KINAMU and will be charged per system user on a monthly basis. There will be no initial costs; the contract may be withdrawn easily after a defined period of validity (one year minimum). It will also be possible to change to an in-house system, whereas the provided system including hardware, software and all attached data may be taken over after a period of three years.
The basis - not the final solution
With this approach it is possible within short (4 to 6 weeks) to lay the foundation for a company-wide solution. The use of Best-in-Class Solutions (e.g. SAP ERP as core ERP system) guarantees the system's ability to develop. The further development, however, may be carried out according to the company's individual speed and learning curve.
